Description

The INGCO ING-MMA2006 is a strong single-phase inverter stick (MMA) welder for workshop and site work on medium steelwork. It delivers 10–200 A and runs 1.6–5.0 mm electrodes.

What it is good for

  • Medium steel fabrication: doors, gates, railings, stairs and steel frames
  • Workshop maintenance and repair of agricultural and workshop equipment
  • Regular site work with 3.2 mm and 4.0 mm electrodes

Electrodes and materials

  • Takes 1.6–5.0 mm electrodes. 5.0 mm electrodes run near the top of its 200 A range, so expect shorter welding time per duty cycle with them.
  • Typical current for general-purpose E6013 electrodes: 2.5 mm ≈ 60–90 A · 3.2 mm ≈ 90–130 A · 4.0 mm ≈ 120–170 A · 5.0 mm ≈ 170–240 A. Exact ranges vary by brand and type — always use the range printed on the electrode packet.
  • Mild and low-alloy steel — with general-purpose rutile electrodes (E6013) or low-hydrogen electrodes (E7018) for structural and load-bearing joints
  • Stainless steel — with stainless electrodes (e.g. E308L)
  • Cast iron repairs — with nickel cast-iron electrodes
  • Aluminium and very thin sheet (below about 1.5 mm) are better done with TIG or MIG welding

Key specifications

  • Output current: 10–200 A
  • Duty cycle: 200A@60%
  • No-load voltage: 70 V
  • Electrode diameter: 1.6–5.0 mm

Duty cycle in practice

Duty cycle 200A@60%: measured over a 10-minute period, this means about 6 minutes of welding at 200 A, followed by about 4 minutes of cooling. At lower currents the machine can weld for longer. Staying within the duty cycle protects the machine and extends its life.

Power supply

Single-phase 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz — runs on a normal single-phase supply, but at high current it needs a dedicated, adequately rated circuit. Avoid long, thin extension leads. Low or unstable mains voltage reduces the welding current available. If you use a generator, choose one with enough capacity and automatic voltage regulation (AVR).

Features

  • IGBT inverter technology — lighter and more energy-efficient than a traditional transformer welder, with a stable DC arc
  • Hot Start — a short current boost when the arc strikes, for easier starting
  • Arc Force — raises the current when the arc gets too short, so the arc does not die out
  • Anti-Stick — cuts the current if the electrode sticks, so it can be freed without damaging it

In the box (per INGCO)

  • Electrode holder with cable
  • Earth clamp with cable
  • Wire brush
  • Welding helmet

You will also need

  • Welding electrodes
  • Welding gloves and protective clothing

Always weld with a proper welding helmet, gloves and protective clothing, in a well-ventilated area.
